The Board of Directors of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce has announced Michael J. Quaranta will be the new president of the State Chamber upon Rich Heffron’s retirement on June 30, 2018. “We are thrilled to have Mike as our new president,” said Gary Stockbridge, chairman of the State Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Rich Heffron’s tenure has put the State Chamber on stable financial footing and positioned us as the leading advocate for business in the state. Mike’s diverse set of experiences will make him an effective leader for the State Chamber’s next chapter as we continue our work supporting small and large businesses across Delaware.” Mike brings a depth of experience in both government and the private sector. He has been a principal at a leading government and public relations firm in Washington, D.C. since 2010. Past positions include serving as the Chief of Staff (2003 – 2010) to U.S. Representative Michael N. Castle (R-DE); Vice President, Federal and State Government Affairs, Experian Information Solutions, N.A.; Director, Federal Government Affairs, TRW, Inc.; and Legislative Assistant to former U.S. Senator David F. Durenberger (R-MN). “Mike is the right person to lead the State Chamber and guide the organization’s future,” said Rich Heffron, the State Chamber’s current president. “Change is constant in today’s world, and Mike is the type of leader who will embrace that change and will grow the Chamber to a new level of success.” Mike and his wife Michelle live in New Castle, Delaware where they own a small business and are active in the local community. Mike serves as a councilperson for the City of New Castle.
