Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently announced that the fourth annual “Bill Adami Fund for Innovation” award will be used to build a more inclusive art program for the clients of Easterseals. Using dollars raised through the Adami Fund, the Easterseals Artfulness Program, will sponsor local artists to teach art classes at Easterseals locations statewide, and allow Easterseals participants to experience community activities at local art museums and galleries. Through the Artfulness Program, Easterseals will be able to expand partnerships with a number of organizations throughout the state, including: Art-Reach, a non-profit arts organization, Biggs Museum of American Art and the Rehoboth Art League. These organizations will provide on-site and community-based art workshops for participants in Easterseals adult day programs. In addition, Easterseals participants will be invited to display their work in art shows throughout the state. “Our participants love engaging within our community and the Artfulness Program will make it possible to create even more memories for our participants to cherish,” Sydnee Hughes, Easterseals staff member, said. “They love experiencing something new and exciting within the community through programs like Art-Reach. With the Adami Fund award, we can enhance our art programming to help participants see they can experience the same community activities as everyone else and not be treated differently.” The Bill Adami Fund for Innovation was created in memory of Easterseals late President/CEO, William J. Adami, honoring his legacy of leadership and innovation at Easterseals. “This year’s Bill Adami Fund for Innovation winner is unique in that it benefits several of our programs throughout the state of Delaware,” said Craig Binetti, Easterseals board member and chair of the Bill Adami Fund for Innovation Committee. “We are excited to hear the stories from the participants and look forward to several art exhibitions showcasing Easterseals participants’ work.” The Easterseals Bill Adami Fund for Innovation is established at the Delaware Community Foundation.
