The Heritage Shores Quilt Club raffled off their first quilt that was made by the group to help raise funds to purchase fabric for “Quilts for Babies at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital”. Darlene Jacks from Heritage Shores, started the club in May of 2017 with only five members. Today they have fifteen active members that meet weekly on Wednesday and their main passion is making and embroidering quilts which they donate to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. To date, they have made and donated close to 200 quilts for the patients at Nanticoke. The raffle was held on November 7th at the Nanticoke Health Foundation building and the lucky ticket that was drawn belonged to Tanya Egar from Bridgeville, DE. When the ladies from the group called Ms. Egar, she wanted to pay it forward by donating the quilt back to the Heritage Shores Quilt Club to do another raffle or to give it to someone in need. The club has already started on their next quilt that will be raffled at a later date, so they decided to donate the quilt to Nanticoke Health Foundation for their upcoming Dinner Auction that will be held April 13, 2019. Nanticoke would like to thank the Heritage Shores Quilt Club for their dedication to Nanticoke’s mission to positively impact our communities’ quality of life through superior health service.
