The Tilton Mansion Preservation Society voted on its second Board President, Michele A. Schiavoni, APR, M.S. Michele succeeds Edward Zabielski. Mr. Zabielski held the position of Board President since 2014, when the Tilton Mansion Preservation Society first received its 501(c)3 status. “I am so very grateful for the tireless efforts of the Tilton Mansion Preservation Society Board. They have accomplished so much to preserve and advance the legacy of the Tilton Mansion. We look forward to engaging the community even more in the coming year to involve students, history lovers and our neighbors in honoring Dr. Tilton's extraordinary legacy and showcasing the grandeur of the mansion," said Michele Schiavoni. Ms. Schiavoni is a veteran of the Delaware Non-Profit community having been Chair of the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement (DANA) from 2012 – 2018, incoming Board member of the Brandywine Association of Fundraising Professionals, Board Chair of the James H. Gilliam Award Committee - American Heart Association from 2009 – 2012, Past-President of both the Delaware Chapters of the American Marketing Association and Public Relations Society of America, and has held board positions with the Delaware State Arts Council and YMCA of Delaware. Michele earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Delaware, and her M.S. in Management/Communications from Syracuse University. She was with Christiana Care Health System for 19 years, spending five years as Chief External Affairs Officer, Senior Vice President. Michele is presently the Director of External Affairs for the newly created Delaware Prosperity Partnership – Economic Development. The Tilton Mansion Preservations Society was created to support the restoration and preservation of the historic Tilton Mansion located at 9th and Broom Streets in Wilmington, Delaware. The mansion was the former home of Dr. James Tilton (1745-1822); one of the most recognized historical figures of Delaware medicine and the revolutionary war. The Tilton Mansion is presently home to The University & Whist Club.
