Lyons Companies and the Lerner College Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship announce that Dr. Loretta J. Mester, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, will be the keynote speaker at the 13th annual Economic Forecast event on Feb. 19, 2019. Mester joins a dynamic panel that also includes Michael K. Farr, author, CNBC contributor and president of Farr, Miller & Washington, LLC, and Joan K. Woodward, president, Travelers Institute and executive vice president for public policy with The Travelers Companies, Inc. The panel will be moderated by Jon Hilsenrath, chief economic correspondent for The Wall Street Journal. The event will be held in John M. Clayton Hall on the University of Delaware campus, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Each speaker will make opening remarks followed by a discussion about current economic conditions, trends and implications. “This is a unique opportunity for the business community and students alike to hear directly from the policy-makers that shape and interpret U.S. economy,” said Catharine N. Lyons, president and chief executive officer of Lyons Companies. Launched in 2006 as an employee education workshop, Lyons Companies’ Economic Forecast has since aligned with the University of Delaware’s Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship and grown to nearly 600 attendees including Mid-Atlantic business and financial leaders, educators, and university students. The event is open to the public and free of charge; however, seating is limited and reservations are required. For more information about the event and to register, visit bit.ly/2019EconomicForecast.
