Goldey-Beacom College’s President Keith to Begin Term as Board Chair of Transform Mid-Atlantic

Goldey-Beacom College (GBC) is pleased to announce Dr. Colleen Perry Keith has been elected by the Transform Mid-Atlantic (TMA) Board of Trustees and will serve as its Board Chair beginning in January 2024. GBC has been a participating member of the organization since 2017, most recently partnering with their AmeriCorps VISTA program.

As the new Board Chair, Dr. Keith is the first president of an Institution of Higher Education (IHE) in Delaware to serve as TMA Chair. “Dr. Keith brings decades of experience and leadership within diverse higher education settings, and we are so fortunate to have her as our organization’s new Board Chair. She deeply supports our organization’s mission, and it is exciting to have her at the helm as we expand to serve a broader region throughout the Mid-Atlantic,” said Madeline Yates, executive director of TMA.

Dr. Keith’s depth of experience and her desire to work collectively, as well as her recent appointment as the Chair of the NCAA Division II Executive Board, also beginning in 2024, will empower her to bring the TMA to a new level of service to its membership.

Prior to GBC, Dr. Keith served as president at Pfeiffer University and at Spartanburg Methodist College. She is on numerous non-profit boards in Delaware and was recently named 2023 Female Leader of the Year by the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. She received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs at The Ohio State University.

Transform Mid-Atlantic mobilizes the collective commitment and capacity of higher education and community partners in the region to develop global citizens and co-create just, equitable, and sustainable institutions and communities.

Transform Mid-Atlantic is a non-profit membership association of public, private, 2- and 4-year colleges and universities, including many HBCUs and minority serving institutions. Transform Mid-Atlantic provides leadership to colleges and universities in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware by advocating, supporting, and encouraging institutional participation in academic and co-curricular based public service and civic engagement programs.
