The Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC), a not-for-profit Joint Action Agency dedicated to serving and representing community-owned electric utilities in Delaware, is undergoing expansion to enhance its capacity in member service. In line with its strategic priorities, DEMEC has diligently fostered an organizational culture centered on alignment and total team success. DEMEC is committed in its mission to bolster the success of its members while precisely navigating the dynamic landscape of the energy industry. Kimberly Schlichting, President and CEO of DEMEC, underscored the significance of filling key positions to fortify the agency's evolving service portfolio, “Filling these positions to support DEMEC’s expanding services was a top priority and critical to advancing our organizational goals.” Accordingly, DEMEC is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Cote as Senior Vice President of Administration, Maya Krasker as Energy Services Manager, and Keri Knorr as Administrative Assistant, further enriching its esteemed team. Robert Cote, Senior Vice President of Administration Robert joined DEMEC on March 11, 2024, bringing with him 25 years of diverse leadership experience across various sectors including the Air Force, Amazon, and as Town Manager of Clayton. Possessing a robust skill set honed through his career trajectory, he has demonstrated a keen aptitude for strategic planning, project management, and operational execution. His past experiences, along with his stated desire to be challenged and expand his knowledge of the energy industry made him the best fit for the position. Robert holds an M.B.A. from Wilmington University. His responsibilities encompass governance oversight to streamline processes that drive annual strategy, budgeting, and communications, while spearheading special projects in close collaboration with the President and CEO. Maya Krasker, Energy Services Manager Maya joined DEMEC on March 4, 2024, following five years of service with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC). During her tenure, she held various roles including Building Sciences and Energy Policy Planner, Energy Efficiency Programs Manager, and Energy Programs Planner. Maya holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences from the University of Delaware. In her capacity at DEMEC, Maya is entrusted with overseeing the administration of new and expanded projects and programs aimed at advancing energy efficiency and climate objectives. Additionally, she will collaborate with members to develop, implement, and manage tailored initiatives aligned with community aspirations pertaining to green energy, energy efficiency, and emerging technologies. Kerri Knorr, Administrative Assistant Keri joined DEMEC on April 1, 2024, following four years of service with DNREC, where she progressed from the role of Energy Planner II to Green Energy Program Manager. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with concentrations in Natural Resources and Conservation from Southern New Hampshire University, along with an associate degree in Energy Management from Delaware Tech, Keri brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. As the primary point of contact at the administrative office, Keri will extend a warm welcome to members, visitors, and guests. Her responsibilities encompass providing dependable administrative support services, managing general office operations, and assisting DEMEC leadership and team members. Keri will play a pivotal role in executing special projects, conducting research, compiling data, preparing reports, facilitating training and events, and supporting board meetings.
