The Wellness Community Delaware will host the first annual Wings of Hope - A Butterfly Release on June 25 at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes.
Wings of Hope – A Butterfly Release is a celebration of life where members of the community may honor a loved one who is currently living with or recovered from a cancer diagnosis, as well as remember the lives of those who are no longer with us. Admission is free with different levels of sponsorship beginning at $250. Community members are invited to donate $10 for a die-cut butterfly on which a loved-one’s name will be written and displayed on a colorful curtain at the event. These butterflies can then be taken home and planted, as they are imbedded with flower seeds. The event culminates with a grand release of monarch butterflies, let free in honor and memory of all those who have faced a cancer diagnosis. Wings of Hope will also feature children’s crafts and activities, artists and vendors featuring “all things butterfly”, children and adult raffle items and refreshments.
To reserve a butterfly, receive information about the unique sponsorships available, advertise in the program, have a table at the event, join the planning committee or to donate items for the auction, contact Marcia Esposito: 302-645-9150 or mesposito@wellnessdelaware.org.
The Wellness Community-Delaware, soon to be known as Cancer Support Community, is part of a national nonprofit organization that provides support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of disease. At The Wellness Community-Delaware, all programs are free of charge. More information about The Wellness Community and this unique event is available on their website at www.wellnessdelaware.org.
