Event Description:
This gifted musician takes the audience on a musical journey into the tradition and future of music. His distinctive guitar style, wry humor and warm, expressive voice have made him both a legend and a lure to audiences around the world. His shows are filled with the side-splitting laughter of terrific story-telling, the sweet melancholy of ballads and the passion of gritty blues. Performance Magazine calls Tom Rush “fresh — a timeless act.” Tom’s newest album What I Know (released in 2009), his first studio recording in over 35 years, is a musical quilt of original and carefully selected compositions that fully deserve “the Rush treatment.” The songs are shorn of elaborate metaphors, and placed in graceful, evocative, straightforward emotional settings. Rush’s warm baritone voice, tanned by experience, humor and melancholy, shines right through the lyrics, illuminating them from within. Tickets: $37
