Barry Jacobs, Psy.D.: Clinical Psychologist, Family Therapist and Author of The Emotional Survival Guide for Caregivers -- Looking After Yourself and Your Family will be the guest speaker at the 2nd annual Delaware Lifespan Respite Summit on April 14 from 9am to 3:30pm at Easter Seals New Castle location at 61 Corporate Circle . The Delaware Caregivers Support Coalition will be hosting this event, which is sponsored by Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD). Come learn why respite, or temporary relief to those caring for loved ones with disabilities or conditions of aging, is important.
This one-day summit will bring together caregivers and representatives from state government, nonprofit organizations, legislatures and service providers representing all ages and disabilities to, provide information about respite care programs and options in Delaware and increase awareness of family support resources.
There is a $20 registration fee, except to family caregivers who can register for free. Space is limited. Lunch and materials will be provided. The registration deadline is Friday, April 8. Check-in for registrants begins at 9 am.
