Event Description: Toscana Kitchen+Bar will close its doors for renovation on Sunday, October 3, 2010. When it reopens (planned for Thursday, October 14, 2010), diners will experience a new menu, a new interior and a new name, Piccolina Toscana. If there were a world-record for fastest full-scale restaurant renovation, this 10-day turnaround would likely be in the running. However, before Toscana closes, Owner/Chef Dan Butler has celebrations on his mind. Butler says, “Ever since I announced the renovation, what I’ve heard the most is how much people are going to miss Toscana. Every day, someone calls to make sure we are still open—and we are. Plus, we are having a Going-Away Party to give people one last chance to enjoy the old menu and décor.” Butler is celebrating Toscana, which he opened twenty years ago as Griglia Toscana, in two major ways: A 20% off coupon available on toscanakitchen.com, valid every day until the restaurant closes for construction; as well as 20 wines for $20. A Going-Away Party. Immediately following the October 2nd dinner service, Toscana will clear out the dining tables for a restaurant-wide bash. The fun will start in the bar (at 8:30pm) with DJ Zip and continue with the band that started TK+B, Shawn Q and his Big Band, in the dining room. Following dinner service (around 10:30pm), we'll open up the dining room floor for dancing, vacate the walk-in fridge for munchables, and offer drink specials and BigChefGuy prizes. Toscana’s Going-Away Party is a 21+ event.
