GGA Construction today announced the September delivery of the new Hyatt Place Riverfront hotel and attached banquet center, Riverfront Events. The six-story, 96,000 SF hotel overlooks the Christina River and is the first Hyatt-branded hotel to open in Wilmington. The hotel and banquet center are a joint venture between Onix Hospitality and Big Fish Restaurant Group. Hotel features include: 114 Guest Rooms The bar, featuring specialty cocktails and beers 6,000 SF patio along the Riverwalk Bridal suite overlooking Christina River Full fitness center “The hotel and event space are a perfect addition to Wilmington’s Riverfront,” said Lorri Grayson, President of GGA Construction. “We are pleased to share that the GGA team was able to meet project challenges, while adhering to our standards of safety and excellence.” GGA’s project team included Dave Grayson, Project Executive; Nathan Volk, Project Manager; Carol Thomas, Project Engineer; Mike Anderson, Senior Superintendent; Josh Volk, Superintendent; and Todd Kitts, Assistant Superintendent. The hotel was developed by Onix Hospitality, based in Kennett Square. “We greatly enjoyed the opportunity to work with GGA on this exciting project,” said Jonathan Silver, Vice President of Onix Group. “We feel that the Hyatt Place and Riverfront Events center is going to be the best place to stay and host an event in Delaware. From start to finish, the GGA project team worked extremely hard, were responsive, forward thinking, and professional. We are very pleased with the end result and look forward to working with GGA in the future.” Attached to the hotel is Wilmington’s new event venue, Riverfront Events. The venue consists of 8,500 SF of event space for weddings, corporate events, and gatherings. “GGA has proved to be a great partner in our project,” said Eric Sugrue, President of Big Fish Restaurant Group. “The overall building experience with GGA has been second to none.
