John Henry will be this year’s entrepreneurship keynote for the fourth annual Millennial Summit. Mr. Henry is an entrepreneur, investor, co-founder, partner of Harlem Capital, host of VICELAND's ‘Hustle’, and a Forbes 30 Under 30 awardee. His address will take place on Monday, August 3, as part of the #MILLSUMMIT’s entrepreneurship day. As a Dominican American, Mr. Henry was raised by immigrant parents. He dropped out of music school at 18, and began working as a doorman. Soon after Mr. Henry launched his first business, an on demand dry cleaner for film and TV productions (clients included The Wolf of Wall Street, Law & Order, and Boardwalk Empire). At the age of 21, Mr. Henry sold his company and co-founded Harlem Capital. In just a short time, Mr. Henry turned his startup company into a powerful investment firm funding over $40.3 million in female and minority founded startups. Mr. Henry has also hosted VICELAND's Hustle, Executive Produced by Alicia Keys and Marcus Samuelsson. Now, at 27, he's become a real estate investor with more endeavors on the horizon “The Millennial Summit Planning Committee is thrilled to have secured John Henry as our keynote for this year’s Entrepreneurship Day,” commented Kyle McLaughlin, Co-Chair of the Entrepreneurship Committee. He and Co-Chair Kevin Hunter are the driving forces behind the #MILLSUMMIT’s entrepreneurial focus. Last year, the inaugural Entrepreneurship Day gained attention from local and regional stakeholders from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. This year, the second annual Entrepreneurship Day will kick off the 2020 #MILLSUMMIT on Monday, August 3rd with a focus on expanding opportunity for those traditionally left behind. Hunter says, “John Henry’s career of investing in minority-owned ventures is an incredibly timely narrative. We hope that his message will be an inspiration to all of the aspiring entrepreneurs participating in this year’s Summit.” The Millennial Summit (or #MILLSUMMIT) is a one-of-a-kind, interdisciplinary conference for young professionals, rising stars, innovators, and industry leaders to connect and grow. This year’s virtual event has been expanded to a three day event on August 3-5, 2020.
