DART announces the re-introduction and implementation of their popular “Get A Job/Get A Ride Program” effective September 21, 2020. DART’s Get A Job/Get A Ride (GaJ/GaR) program is making a comeback after several years. The employer-based program, administered by DART’s Rideshare Delaware, provides new employees free transportation to and from work for the first month of their new job. The program is open to all businesses within Delaware that are designated as a GaJ/GaR partner of Rideshare Delaware. The program, providing eligible employees with a 30-Day Bus Pass, will be rolled out through partner outreach, announcements and social media the week of September 21, 2020, coinciding with “National Car-Free Day” to be held on September 22. “The program provides an opportunity for employees to experience riding public transit while developing a habit of clean commuting," says John Sisson, Chief Executive Officer, of the Delaware Transit Corporation. Details can be viewed at Rideshare Delaware . Get A Job/Get A Ride is open to new employees whose employer is a GaJ/GaR Employer Partner. Businesses and organizations should fill out the Employer Partner Form online to become a Partner. The employer will then receive a Partner ID number that can be used to enroll eligible new employees into the Get A Job, Get A Ride program and receive their free 30-Day Bus Pass. As part of an effort to streamline the program, the Employer Partner form and the New Employee Enrollment form will be available online via electronic submission and the 30-Day Bus Pass accessible through the DART Pass app, as the preferred method of usability. The Get a Job/Get a Ride program is part of DART’s range of mobility solutions for commuters, and a valuable resource for Delaware employers looking to retain new hires by helping them get to and from work with the free 30-Day Bus Pass. Lack of transportation can be one of the biggest barriers to employment, and Get a Job/Get a Ride provides the opportunity to improve career options and revitalize Delaware’s workforce. The program will encourage ridership on DART and introduce new employees to the DART bus system and the DART Transit and DART Pass Apps. Get a Job/Get a Ride (GaJ/GaR) will be managed by RideShare Delaware, a service of DART.
