Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is thrilled to announce that our annual Rock the Block initiative will take place the week of October 12 on Wilmington’s Eastside. For many years, HabitatNCC has focused its efforts and resources on revitalizing this part of our city, mainly through homeownership. Just one tool among many in our box of empowering neighbors in the community, Rock the Block expands focus from homeownership to street beautification, and, in 2020, COVID preparedness. Eastside residents who pre-registered may take advantage of services this week, including mobile food pantry pick-ups, COVID-19 care kit pick-up, a mask-making challenge, home gutter cleanings, and yard maintenance. Through Habitat’s neighborhood Revitalization approach, Habitat affiliates offer an expanded array of housing services and partner with local residents, housing leaders, community groups, and businesses to transform neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life in communities. We thank our sponsors Healthy Communities Delaware and TD Charitable Foundation for their support.
