Heart In The Game Holiday Blood Drive

Heart In The Game will stage its 24th ECG screening event at 76er's Field House on Sunday Dec 13 from 9am-1pm.

All Delaware students age 10-23 are eligible. We will also be training in CPR/AED.

Founded in 2014, HITG has screened over 3500 DE students statewide and trained over 8000 in CPR/AED. This training is with our partner, https://www.dejavusafety.org/

We passed the Grace Firestone Act for Sudden Cardiac Awareness that year (7th in the nation) and then began our screening events.

• Sudden Cardiac Arrest is NOT a heart attack. Without immediate CPR and AED within 5 minutes the victim either dies or has lifetime cognitive issues.
• Athletes have 2-3 X's the incidence of SCA. Victims may never experience warning signs.
• SCA is the #1 killer of athletes on school campuses. 7-10,000 kids succumb annually...more than childhood cancer.
• Screening results evaluated by pediatric cardiologists at Nemours
• All CDC guidelines will be followed and enforced.
• Our intent is to go 2 events per month statewide beginning in Jan.
