Twenty-one tech-enabled startups with at least one team member from an underrepresented group will compete for grant-based prizes totaling $275,000 during the finals of the Startup302 competition, organized by Delaware Prosperity Partnership and local partners. This pitching round encompasses nine categories and multiple industries. As part of its mission, Delaware Prosperity Partnership supports Delaware's efforts to build a stronger entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem and advance a culture of innovation in Delaware. Working with innovators and startups, DPP spotlights and celebrates their successes and connects them with the resources they need to succeed. In addition to Delaware Prosperity Partnership, prize sponsors include the Delaware Division of Small Business, the University of Delaware, Delaware State University, JPMorgan Chase, Discover Bank, New Castle County, FMC, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware, Labware and Delaware Innovation Space. Judges include Delaware Deputy Secretary of State Kris Knight; Denita Henderson, associate director, Delaware Small Business Development Center; venture capitalist and entrepreneur Pedro Moore; Jim Roszkowski, president, Discover Bank Delaware; Nick Moriello, president, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware; Mona Parikh, director of Business Development, Delaware Innovation Space; Anne Clauss, executive director, Delaware Data Innovation Lab; Sara Olson, Principal, FMC Ventures; and Dr. Michael Casson, dean, Delaware State University School of Business.
