Local McDonald’s® Owner/Operator Michael Meoli and The Meoli Companies are proud to announce this year’s recipients of The Meoli Companies McDonald’s Scholarship Fund at Chesapeake College. Four students were selected to receive $500 each for their outstanding scholastic achievement and commitment to ongoing community service. Today, we recognize Brittany Kimbrew, Tess Dyott, Jordan Dixon and Michelle Era. These non-traditional students are returning to college to complete a degree or entering college for the first time years after graduating from high school. “Education is one of the most fundamental elements of personal development and growth,” local McDonald’s Owner/Operator Michael Meoli said. “I’m honored to be able to give back to my community in a way that is so meaningful to our students. These individuals will help pave the way forward for many who follow in their footsteps.” The Meoli Companies believes in giving back to the communities in which their restaurants operate – the communities in which they, their managers and their crew members work and live. Today, The Meoli Companies operates 25 McDonald’s restaurants throughout Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. “Each year, Michael Meoli and The Meoli Companies continue their commitment of providing scholarships to individuals who might not otherwise have had the chance to attend college,” Chesapeake College President Clifford Coppersmith said. “They have always been great stewards of our community and we appreciate their efforts always.” Student Testimonial: Brittany Kimbrew, Education Major, Cambridge "I want to teach and give back to the community. This scholarship is helping me to help the next generation. Like my education, this scholarship is an investment in the future of this community. Without financial help like this scholarship, reaching my goals would be much more difficult." Jordan Dixon, Business Major, Denton "I have a full-time job in banking and want to advance in the field. Managing work and classes isn't easy, but scholarships really make a difference to students like me. As a part-time student, I'm not eligible for all financial aid, so I'm grateful to receive this scholarship." Tess Dyott, Paramedic Major, Easton "Being a paramedic and helping people is truly my dream job. I really want to make a difference and give back. I work five days a week and volunteer with the Easton Fire Department in addition to taking my classes here at Chesapeake. I appreciate this scholarship so much." The Meoli Companies is dedicated to hiring outstanding people, building and maintaining the best restaurants, and delivering a gold-standard experience for its customers.
