The Goldey-Beacom College (GBC) President and Board of Trustees are pleased to announce the promotion of Susan (Sue) M. Mannering to Assistant Vice President for Financial Services and Human Resources. Previously the Executive Director of Finance and Human Resources, Mannering has been with the College for 26 years. During this time, she has assumed increased responsibilities, which include operational responsibility for the business office, financial aid, the campus store, human resources and the communications center. In addition to her leadership role in Human Resources and Financial Services, the recent pandemic offered another opportunity for campus oversight. Mannering chaired the Return-to-Work Task Force and spearheaded the College’s response and policies for COVID-19. Utilizing her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification as well as her analytical, yet compassionate thinking, she managed the needs of students and employees and provided a safe return to on-campus studies and work. She demonstrated yet again her effectiveness in managing executive-level decision making amidst ever-changing scenarios. “I have had the great fortune to work with Sue since she was a student at the College to now, where she exhibits great leadership and expert knowledge of finance and HR,” said EVP Kristine Santomauro. “Sue’s dedication to and love for the College is evident in everything she does - whether it is meeting with students, managing audits or the exemplary manner in which she executes the complexities of her workload. She is an integral component of the College. Her skillset has already contributed greatly to the administration’s achievements. Sue’s unique attributes will predictably lead to further successes. It has been my pleasure to watch her evolve into the executive she is today.” Mannering holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA degree in Financial Management, both from Goldey-Beacom College. She resides in Smyrna, DE along with her husband Mark and three sons.
