Faithful Friends Hosts 14th Annual 5K Benefiting Pets in Delaware

On Sunday, September 29th, join the community in supporting homeless pets at the 14th Annual 5K & Mutt Mile, hosted by Faithful Friends Animal Society. The event kicks off at Bellevue State Park with race-day registration starting at 8 AM and the race beginning promptly at 9 AM.

The family-fun event is not just for humans! Friendly, leashed dogs are encouraged to participate alongside their owners on the scenic cross-country 5K course. For those preferring a slower pace, the "Mutt Mile" offers a leisurely walk through the park’s scenic surroundings.

Faithful Friends will also be offering event-day registration with an increased fee, so those who did not pre-register before then are welcome to join in on race day! Registration can be found at FaithfulFriends5K.com
Rain or shine, the event will go on at the Bellevue State Park Bandshell, with over 400 participants expected to attend.

As Delaware’s largest dog-friendly race and Faithful Friends' biggest fundraiser, the 5K & Mutt Mile plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission. The funds raised will help provide care for over 400 animals daily and support essential community programs aimed at assisting pets and their caregivers in need. The organization relies heavily on individual donations, which make up most of its $3.7 million annual budget.

Attendees can also look forward to a variety of food trucks, including Cheezy Vegan and Lucky Shot Coffee, along with local vendors offering their products for sale.

To further support the cause, participants can sponsor a specific shelter pet through Faithful Friends' Sponsor a Pet webpage, providing much-needed sanctuary care for animals that have been in the shelter for extended periods.
An online auction will also launch ahead of the event, with a variety of items including vacation stays, restaurant gift cards, spa packages, pet baskets, and much more.
