Goldey-Beacom College is proud to announce that its spring/summer 2023 issue of the collegewide alumni magazine, Reflections, has been honored with an Award of Excellence from the Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX). In its thirty-sixth year, the APEX Awards program is renowned for celebrating excellence in publishing across a broad spectrum of categories. These awards are distinguished by their rigorous evaluation of graphic design, editorial content, and overall communications excellence. This year’s APEX competition saw over 1,100 entries, reflecting an exceptionally high level of competition. The APEX Grand Awards highlight the top works in each major category, while the APEX Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding achievements in specific subcategories. Among the 100 Grand Awards and 439 Awards of Excellence presented, Reflections stood out in Category #28: Magazines, Journals & Tabloids – 1-2 Person-Produced. Ken Turtoro, Executive Editor of The APEX Awards at Communications Concepts, Inc., remarked on the intensity of the competition, stating, “The entries this year were of exceptional quality, making the selection process highly competitive. Winning an Award of Excellence is a testament to the superior standards of the winning entries.” Goldey-Beacom College’s Reflections magazine was recognized for its exceptional editorial content, innovative design, and effective communication.
